Here is a Black Velvet Leatherleaf Slug, Belocaulus angustipes, crossing the path in the family garden at LBJ WC.   Native to Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina,  now in 8 states from SC to TX, since appearing in Mobile in 1960.  Mostly npcturnal and prefers humid situatioins.  Vseronicellid.
