My two pics of this Eastern Striped Cricket, Miogryllus saussurei, fail to show the necessary head markings for ID but VB got them in her photo. Seen at LBJ WC. A Gryllid, or true cricket family, then a field cricket, then a Striped Cricket. Head is more round and lacks transverse bar between eyes that would indicate genus Velarifictorus. Western Striped Cricket is not in Texas.

This is probably Scudder's Scaly Cricket, Cycloptilum squamosum, by abdomen color and wing/wing covert detail. Trigonipalpum is similar in east Tx. but has longer cerci. Slossoni and comprehendens are also in Tx. Goes on our survey as Cycloptilum sp. Mogoplistid.

Here is one of three singing Prairie Tree Cricket, Oecanthus argentinus, at LBJ WC. More shots follow, none of good quality, sorry.
